Agreed. I would say that's true for any strong support/healing character, such as Monk, Ritualist or Dervish. I seem to win more points playing as them, usually 4-7 glad a night of some playing.
Yesterday I was utterly bored and played a hammer war and a spike dagger sin. It was a lot of fun but I only got 1 glad point all night. Sure my team even had a Monk sometimes, but lol, not to blow my own trumpet, I don't feel most RA players Monk as well as I do. Even doing some linebacking the Monks would still eventually crumble.
And melee hate feels indeed far too common. Guardian, Weapon of Shadow, Shadowsong, Throw Dirt, Blinding Flash, Empathy, VoR, SS, Reckless Haste, Ins. Parasite, Faintedheartness, Steam, general Weakness... Even some simple hexes such as water magic ones, or conditions such as cripple can severely hinder a melee's damage if you don't have any support on the team (and my damage bars usually don't have room for self cleanup).
Usually if I'm am as a Monk and get a Hammer war + some shutdown (Mes, Ranger, Nec), it's pretty much a guaranteed glad point, with the 4th char slot being just a bonus.
Yesterday I even thought to myself a couple times "dang, if I were playing Monk, this team would have great chances to get to 10, it's fairly well balanced".

Sorry to disapoint you but "Gardian > SoA anywhere" is not true! Depending on situations Soa can be more usefull then Guardian. In fact, if your being pressured by a fire or air eley, SoA will be a great healp since it would reduce the damage and guardian would not have done nothing (unless givin the divine bonus favour...and that is given by soa too, obviously). Naturally, in RA Guardian would be prefered to SoA, i wont disagree, but "Gardian > SoA anywhere" i have to disagree for theabove reasons.
Just one more, but very important, thing:
RoF description acordingly to Guildwarswiki: Enchantment Spell. For 8 seconds, the next time target ally would take damage, that ally gains that amount of Health instead, maximum 15...67...80.
This means the folowing: whenever target ally would take dmg, for the next 8 seconds, the damage is negated and target ally will be healed in 15...67...80 (acording to the protection prayers attributes u have ). And you can use RoF every 2 seconds. If this isnt good.... maybe Ursan was better
Supose for instance that you are being attacked by a air eley (nothing uncomun in RA). As you know they try a spike chain on you, that can be protted whith RoF if you got it and it would negate much of the damage.
Why you thing RoF apears in all prot bars? Obviouly that everyone comits mistakes, as you say on your post. However, RoF negates damage and heals. Its awsome skill!
Pls dnt take my coments in a offensive way. I'm just trying to ilustrate the benefits of RoF in prot bars (and in Hybrid bars as well).

I think the pre-req for his statement is that you're not a complete idiot that uses guardian against non-physicals. Against any physicals, I'd probably pick guardian > SoA in most cases.

That's generally when you cast spirit bond.

Play 2 hours of RA monk, and average your RoF triggers. I'm sure it's going to average about 20 damage negated, and 20 health gained. 40 sum health gain for 5 energy? No thanks. My 2-spec patient spirit heals for more than that.

Get an Balanced team with an support Rt. When the monk get ganged the Rt can warding him or blind them(weapon of warding, blind was mingson), when the monk gets overwhelmed by hexes the Rt heals the party(life, mend B&S, Soothing Memories, kaolai), when there is no big threat the Rt pressure with onfesive skills (AR, destrution, Carateka), even interrupt the enemy (warmonger)
